Will there ever be limits to human cruelty toward pets?

These three still unable to eat by themselves kittens were thrown out into a garbage can on a festive day of May 1st. Boy riding the bicycle on his way to do shopping at the local market heard some scratching sound and saw the kittens crouched in the pale thrown into a public garbage can. He took the kittens to our shelter.

Human cruelty does not surprise us anymore – torn away from their mummies, still blind and unable to eat by themselves kittens thrown into public garbage cans, buried up in the dirt, or drowned is almost an every day occurrence. It makes us want to shout: “Are we human beings or just zombies?” Whoever can ever raise the hand and hurt such little babies? There are rhetorical questions.

Three little blue-eyed babies are not yet capable to understand they had become the victims of human cruelty upon birth.

These babies need money for special milk formula and both wet and dry baby kitten food.
Your support is crucial to them. Please donate to the organization’s account. In the “Details of payment” please indicate: baby kittens food. Thank you very much for your support.

Dūkštukai, the abandoned kittens, from Dūkštai neighborhood in Vilnius

They are abandoned, sick and unwanted. These kittens were brought from Dūkštai neighborhood into Vilnius Homeless Animals Sanitary Service (VHASS). Head of Dūkštai neighborhood snarled out that we may do whatever we want with the kittens as though they were a piece of garbage. Victims of irresponsible breeding, the once beautiful longhair cats, due to neglect, had lost their shiny coats and are suffering from difficult breathing, watery eyes, and runny little noses. These poor kittens are unwanted and renounced just because they were born.
We could not leave these sick kittens at VHASS. They need veterinary treatment and premium quality food, therefore they have been hospitalized at the vet clinic. After recovery, the kitten will become the real lynx type beauties. We kindly ask you to help them become such beauties. Good care and nutritious food make wonders. I order to ensure that, we need your support, however.

Therefore, we ask on behalf of all four kittens, the Dūkštukai, to help nurture them back to health. If you can contribute towards the Dūkštukai vet expenses, please make a donation to:

Two sick kittens, Auksinukas (Goldie) and Juoduliukas (Blackie) need help!

Today we have rushed to Vilnius Homeless Animals Sanitary Service (VHASS) to rescue these two cats.
Black kitten is only 6 months old and is severely sick. He has pus in the eyes and yellow green discharge running from his tiny nose. The kitten has had keratitis and the resulting ocular damage is obvious. His coat is rather sparse with some bald spots due to  malnutrition and poor health. Juoduliukas has an urgent need for premium quality food, antibiotics and booster medications so he can recover properly. The kitten has been hospitalized and every day he spends at the vet clinic costs money as does the medication and treatment. Juoduliukas’s vet expenses have come to around 180 Litas.
Aksinukas (Goldie) is a young around 1-year-old kitten with a purulent wound in the leg. He too has been put in the vet clinic for his wound treatment and a course of antibiotics injections. His vet expenses will come to around 120 Litas.

Karpusha the kitten needs help!

The car hit Karpusha. The kitten has been laying flat on the road until the late passers by noticed him and brought him to their house so the dogs would not hurt him, they told us.

Early in the morning, Sunday, they called up several shelters for help but none of them would. Having called us and told what had happened they agreed to take the kitten to the vet clinic. They could not afford to pay for the treatment, however. The kitten was homeless, which means he is on his own. This also means he belongs to all of us, to those who do not turn down the helpless but nurse them back to life and health. Those who make them believe that live is still beautiful and it could be lived in a company of loving people and warm home.
